The Lady Hornets had their soccer senior night this Wednesday, October 8th at 6:30 p.m. They had a 7-0 win against Lakewood. The Lady Hornets have eleven seniors on the team, nine on varsity and two on jv. Senior Elizabeth Kiley expressed how her favorite part of the whole night was seeing all the support the seniors received for their hard work and seeing her friends come to cheer her on for her special night. After this emotional night, she explains her current excitement towards having more free time but still being upset about the season soon coming to an end. Elizabeth depicted how she had a lot of fun with high school, especially with fun traditions like team dinners. However, her favorite senior memory is the Lady Hornets 4-0 win against our rival, Watkins. Elizabeth’s message to all underclassmen involved in sports is to not get involved with drama because karma is real and will come for you. As for the underclassmen, sophomore Ana Ferrer, discusses the bittersweet feeling of the seniors soon leaving the team. She emphasizes how she is so happy for them to do great things, but she feels sad that they are leaving because she thinks they are the best group of girls. Ana remembers her favorite memory with the seniors being a fun day the lady hornets had when they played football and ate ice cream. She believed her favorite part of the senior night was the celebrations they had after each goal was scored. Ana’s message towards the seniors is she hopes they do big things but to never forget her and how much she loves them. Even with their senior night coming to an end, the Lady Hornets soccer team is currently preparing for their first playoff game on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m. against Teays Valley.
