Spooky season is here and it also happens to be around the weekend. Many people are either going to be trick or treating, trunk or treating, going to parties or staying home. If you are one of those people who want to stay home and have a horror movie marathon with others or just by yourself here is my top pick.

- Sumala-Indonesian Horror/Slasher Film (2024)
Based on an urban legend originating from Semrang, Indonesia around 1948. Sumula is a film about a wealthy couple that struggles with conceiving an heir. In deep desperation, without informing her husband, the mother makes a pact with the devil in order to have children, specifically twins. However these twins are not going to be identical, one of the daughters (Kumala) is going to be pretty, social, and lovely meanwhile the other one (Sumala) will be crippled, disfigured, and hateful. The parents have to raise both children up until their 10th birthday until the devil comes to take Sumala, but when Soedjiman (the dad) sees Sumala’s disfigured, and crippled infant body, he is filled with disgust and kills Sumala; But what happens when Sumala comes back as a vengeful spirit? Will she forgive her parents, or will she remain an evil entity?
